If you have children one activity that many enjoy is playing house.  And as with every house, a kitchen is vital part of the house.

Of course, you cannot have a play house without play pots and pans.  What would you cook your play food in?

There are many different types of play pots and pans.  There are frying pans, pots, cups, and numerous other things.

Children love to pretend they are cooking things in their play oven.  They feel like they are grown ups and it makes them feel more mature. 

When playing house, usually their is a mom and a dad, and a child, and the parents cook food for their baby with play pots and pans.  They make their baby a meal and pretend to burp it, change it's diaper, and everything you would do with a real baby.  Usually the dad has a job and the mom stays at home to take care of the baby. 

Play telephones are also a common play toy for children.  They enjoy pretending to call people and talking to nobody, and even sometimes yelling at people and hanging up on them.

Children to love pretend to be adults, it makes them feel more mature and more grown up.  That's one of the main reason playing house is such a popular game.  Pretending to cook just makes them feel even more mature because that's what their parents do for them. 

Often times the children get their parents to pretend to be their children so they can take care of them for a change.  It makes them feel like they are contributing more to the family.  And as I said earlier, children love to feel like they're doing important things for their family, like they are returning the favor of their parents always taking care of them.

Play pots and pans can be found at most stores that sell toys.  They are relatively cheap, and they provide hours of entertainment.  At most stores you can buy a set of play pots and pans for ten to twenty dollars.  The set includes cups, pans, pots, utensils, and other various kitchen items.  You can also buy play food for around the same.  You can get numerous things like pie, cheese, cake, and tons of other items, all relatively cheap.  Play pots and pans and play food are definitely an investment that will pay for itself through the joy your chlidren will have with them.
